Why did you decide to take on the NoFizzUSA challenge?
About a year ago I realized my metabolism was beginning to change. It was not able to handle bad food and the loads of soda each day. I love good food (which is of course bad for you!) so I decided to cut out my habit of 10+ sodas a day.

My need for soda was huge. My family has always been big soda drinkers, so that just came naturally. My daily routine used to be two in the morning, five to eight during the day, and two or three more before I went to bed. I considered myself an extreme case.

Like I mentioned before I could see that in weight gain, dental bills, and feeling bad on days without soda.

What are your impressions of how technology and social media played into NoFizzUSA?
I wish it was around when I made this decision. I posted on the Internet that I was going to stop drinking soda and all I got was naysayers! It’s great people are taking positive steps in their lives with new technology and social media.

What was the toughest thing about giving up soda?
For me I thought the physical need my body required for caffine would have been the toughest thing. In the end I set my mind to it and stopped cold turkey. From 10 to 0 in 24 hours. I never looked backed or even thought about soda.

What was the best thing about giving up soda?
The best thing about giving up soda? I was able to drop 40 pounds in 2 months without a change of diet or exercise. I went from 200 to a more fitting 160 pounds.

10+ sodas is an easy 2000 calories a day. Without those 2000 calories weight loss was a given. My future dental bills and cavity count will drop for sure.

How did NoFizz America help you along the way on the NoFizzUSA journey?
NoFizz America continually keeps me informed and positive, allowing me a platform to spread my story about soda, and why you shouldn’t drink it in excess!
