Coming from a family that constantly entertains, there was always an abundance of soda around when I was growing up. Unfortunately, I was naive enough to believe that soda, and more specifically diet soda, didn’t cause health problems. I, along millions of others, always thought that diet soda meant something and wasn’t as devastating on my body. Wrong, wrong, wrong.

In 2010, I grew tired of myself – I was out of shape, not at my peak, constantly stressed and was weighed down by bad eating and drinking habits. Due to my constant, on-the-go business, I kept making excuses to myself to justify my habits. It came to a point that I needed to make a change for myself, for my well-being and my future… Or else, I would live a truncated and unhappy life.
I had seen a flurry of conversation about NoFizzUSA on Twitter and at first, the thought of giving up Diet Coke and Diet Mountain Dew was completely out of the question. Not only was it a staple of my day, it was a staple of my nightlife – Jack and Diet Coke was my jam!
Eventually, I relented when I decided a complete lifestyle change was what I needed to live and feel better. Soda and sugary drinks no longer had a place in my life, and I was determined to end their reign.
I took up the #NoFizzUSA challenge in January of 2011, but after mistakenly adding tonic water into my #NoFizzUSA lifestyle, I credit February 2011 as my official start. I had a handful of cravings but in reality, giving up soda wasn’t a problem for me. I think why it took me so long to get started was simply my mind telling me it was going to be harder than it was.
Not only do I feel better not drinking that artificial junk, I am actually now repulsed by it. When I now think about soda, I only associate its taste when it is flat and warm – Yuck! Knowing the disgusting chemicals that are lurking in each bottle and can; I have no will, want, or desire to let those vile fluids pass through my lips ever again.
I know the cliché phrase ‘if I can do it, anyone can do it’ can be easily said but I truly think that anyone can give soda the boot. I guarantee you will feel better and be healthier and thanks to the support of Bobby and all that are associated with NoFizz America, there is no shortage of support to help you accomplish the challenge.
Maybe you are looking for a lifestyle overhaul or maybe you just cannot resist the challenge; either way, for the improvement of your life, I suggest you take on the NoFizzUSA challenge and prove to yourself that no beverage or product has power over you!
